  • Overview

    This key role is responsible for scouting and managing of programming for Subscription, linear, ad supported and Transactional Video On Demand, Electronic Sell Through multi-platform services (Mobile, PC, OTT, tablets, STB) from leading independent and local distributors across South and East Asia, as well as the liaison with the major studios based in the region.

     

    This person is an experienced content connoisseur – with at least 5-6 years‘ experience in a content acquisition and/or programming role, preferably across multiple Asian markets. Prior experience working in the territory is preferable, in particular dealing with Malaysia and Indonesia.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Activities and KPI’s

    • Establishing relationships with local content suppliers
    • Making recommendations for the right mix and right pricing
    • Scouting for ad-hoc (e.g. “exclusive”) opportunities
    • Supporting other functions within the Content Team to execute the pre-defined Content Strategy
    • Supporting Sales/Account management with local requirements and bids
    • Attending key Asian content markets
    • Being the customer interface for all content related matters
    • Managing the relationship with local major studio stakeholders
    • Defining new content propositions as relevant to the Asian market

     

    Role and Responsibilities

     

    • Responsibility for sourcing local content across all windows (Pre-Theatrical, EST, PVOD, AVOD, TVOD, PPV, Pay 1, Pay 2, Free, Library SVOD etc…)
    • Ability to support Senior Management in the definition of the content strategy and product mix for all new launches in SE Asia and the wider region (TVOD, AVOD, SVOD, EST, what suppliers etc...)
    • Ability to support sales and content teams for any client ad-hoc requests and new business modelling purposes
    • Management of ongoing relationship with Asian content suppliers

    Qualifications

    • 5-6 years‘ experience in a content acquisition and/or programming role, preferably across South East Asia
    • VOD experience is preferable
    • A good working knowledge and understanding of the general media landscape
    • An ability to learn about the complexities of individual Asian markets
    • Must be impressive, client facing
    • Must be able to come up with creative solutions to practical issues
    • Must be able to understand the particular while keeping the bigger picture in mind
    • Should have an array of contacts in the local media industry
    • Time-management skills
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including a qualitative and quantitative skill set.
    • Ability to accommodate change and adapt accordingly.
    • Excellent communication skills, including ability to tailor communication to audience to achieve desired results.
    • Highly responsible and self-motivated, able to thrive in an energetic, fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
    • Team player who can build relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong IT skills – in particular ability to handle Excel modelling and PowerPoint presentations
