  • Overview

    Purpose of Role

    The TPM is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing technical resources which are required to deliver projects to the international business.  Projects can be internal or external, as such the TPM needs to ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of the project status, key risks and issues.  The TPM will be interacting with other Project Managers within the global business, as well as with external clients and will facilitate a sharing of information, processes, project controls, plan and tracking required to successfully deliver Technology projects on behalf of our stakeholders.

    Vubiquity’s technology platform is a key factor contributing towards the group’s competitive advantage, and hence commercial success.  The timely delivery of technology solutions, when called for by the business, is contingent upon robust and re-usable solutions.  In this way the TPM will play a key part in the success of the organization.

    Primary Activities and KPI’s

    • How is the role measured?
      • Delivery of business projects within timelines
      • Delivery of development team to Scrum methodology
      • Quality of project plans and documented actions, risks, issues and dependencies
      • Quality of reporting and communication


    • What are the deliverables?
      • Producing and managing technical project plans
      • Documenting and pro-actively tracking actions, risks, issues and dependencies
      • Providing weekly, monthly reports
      • Managing workload and output of development team


    • How often is that updated?

    The deliverables are updated as business projects priorities change


    • How is the role split time wise?
    • 40% Planning, actions, risks, issues etc
    • 40% Managing delivery of development team
    • 20% Reporting and communication


    Role and Responsibilities

    • Take ownership for multiple Technology projects at any given time.
    • Manage all the key stages within the project lifecycle from a technical perspective.
    • Lead and motivate cross-functional technical teams, with a focus on internal or external client deliverables.
    • Manage third party suppliers for technical design and delivery of third party solutions. Collaborating with them on the design and delivery of an IT solution.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers to manage the expectations of stakeholders.
    • Monitor and maintain technical project plans and drive technical work streams to deliver to the plan.
    • Perform technical project management office functions to monitor and control the following:
    • Planning
    • Issues, risks, actions and dependencies
    • Change management
    • Procurement process
    • Manage delivery of development teams using Scrum methodology, including sprint planning, daily calls, retrospective, gathering and applying lessons learnt
    • Review deliverables for all technology workstreams to ensure consistent quality across projects.
    • Prioritise and track best use of technology resources to meet all required delivery.
    • Produce weekly and monthly status reports as required.



    • Develop and work to project and departmental budgets and plans.
    • Understand and follow company processes with regards to managing projects, design principals and sign off.
    • Input to the continuous process improvement within the technical project management and development areas.
    • Keep abreast of industry standards and trends with regards to best practices. Providing advice on how to introduce applicable changes into our processes.


    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • At least 3 years’ experience of managing technology projects within a Digital TV, or Telecoms environment.
    • At least 5 years technical experience within above industries.
    • Demonstrable experience of delivering technical projects on time, against quality and to budget.
    • Demonstrable understanding of VOD content and image workflows.
    • Demonstrable understanding of OTT VOD platforms.
    • Demonstrable experience of the ability to break down large and complex problems into achievable work packages.
    • Demonstrable experience of proactive management of risks, issues and change control.
    • Demonstrable experience of project and resource planning, administration and progress reporting to stakeholders.
    • Demonstrable experience of managing client and stakeholder expectations with regards to timescales.
    • Demonstrable experience of working with a development team using Scrum methodology.
    • Demonstrable experience of working with offsite teams and suppliers.
    • Degree qualification gained in IT, telecoms or engineering is an advantage.
    • A project management qualification is an advantage.
