  • Overview

    The  Software Test Team Leader has the following key areas:

    • Ensuring that the StoreFront product, including web and mobile applications are fit for purpose and meet the requirements provided.
    • Input to the continuous process improvement within the Test area, including the review of Vubiquity’s Test Policy and Test Strategy.
    • As required train other departments such as Application Support, Business Analysts and Operational teams, on software products.

     

    Primary Activities and KPI’s

    • How is the role measured?
      • Number of issues identified in UAT and production.
      • Amount of time spent on production support.
      • Estimates versus actuals.
      • Test automation coverage per system.

     

    • What are the deliverables?
      • Deliver an effective, efficient test service in accordance with Vubiquity’s existing Test Policy and Test Strategy.
      • Ensure StoreFront product including web and mobile applications are fit for purpose and meet the requirements provided.
      • Create and maintain automation test scripts, where appropriate co-ordinating with the development team.
      • As required train other departments such as Application Support, Business Analysts and Operational teams, on software products.

     

    • How often is that updated?

    The deliverables could be updated as business projects priorities change

     

    • How is the role split time wise?
      • 60% System testing
      • 20% Test case creation
      • 10% Test automation
      • 10% User and production support

    Responsibilities

    • Input to specification reviews and categorisation of defects and software changes.
    • Input to the test scenario preparation, including liaising with external clients where necessary, within the project timescales.
    • Ensure products tested are fit for purpose and meet the requirements provided.
    • Create and maintain automation test scripts, where appropriate co-ordinating with the development team.
    • Participation in User Acceptance Testing and user sign off acceptance.
    • Identify, troubleshoot and document issues including the preferred solution.
    • Work with other teams, (architecture, analysts, users), to identify an appropriate solution required to overcome any issues identified during testing.
    • Provide status updates to PMs on project testing progress.
    • Escalate issues that are impacting project timelines to PM as they arise.
    • As required train other departments such as Application Support, Business Analysts and Operational teams, on software products.
    • Update test regression packs as new functionality is rolled out.
    • Assist with setup and configuration of the test environments.
    • Input to the continuous process improvement within the Test area, including the review of Vubiquity’s Test Policy and Test Strategy.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science/Technology
    • 3+ years’ experience in software testing role
    • Demonstrable experience of all test cycles
    • Demonstrable experience of constructing/maintaining test suites using recognized methodologies and tools.
    • Demonstrable experience of communicating and co-ordinating with multiple teams across multiple global locations to resolve incidents or achieve goals.
    • Demonstrable experience of functional and performance testing of web-based and mobile applications.
    • Demonstrable experience of identifying and implementing process improvements.
    • Demonstrable experience of working with external clients.
    • Demonstrable experience of mobile application release process for Apple and Android.
    • Experience of setting and tracking performance targets.
