  • Overview

    The Technical Project Manager, TPM, is responsible for co-ordinating technical resources which are required to deliver projects to the international business.  Projects can be internal or external, as such the TPM needs to ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of the project status, key risks and issues.  The TPM will be interacting with other Project Managers within the international business and will facilitate a sharing of knowledge, processes, project controls, plan and tracking required to successfully deliver Technology projects on behalf of our stakeholders.

    • Take ownership for multiple Technology projects at any given time
    • Manage all the key stages within the project lifecycle as required
    • Lead and motivate cross-functional technical teams, with a focus on internal or external client deliverables
    • Manage third party suppliers for technical design and delivery of third party solutions
    • Manage expectations of stakeholders, third party suppliers and project teams
    • Monitor and maintain project wide plans and drive work streams to deliver to the plan
    • Perform project management office functions to monitor and control project wide:
    • Issues, risks, actions and dependencies
    • Change management
    • Weekly status reports
    • Procurement process
    • Planning
    • Document standards, templates and maintenance
    • Review deliverables for all technology workstreams to ensure consistent quality across projects
    • Prioritise and track best use of technology resources to meet all required delivery
    • Escalate any threats that arise to project delivery timelines
    • Deliver weekly status reports, attend status update meetings and manage actions arising through to completion


    • At least 3 years’ experience of managing technology projects within a Digital TV, or Telecoms environment
    • At least 5 years technical experience within above industries
    • Proven track record of delivering technical projects on time and budget
    • Demonstrable understanding of VOD content and image workflows
    • Demonstrable understanding of VOD platforms
    • Demonstrable experience of the ability to break down large and complex problems into achievable work packages
    • Demonstrable experience of proactive management of risks, issues and change control
    • Demonstrable experience of project and resource planning, administration and progress reporting to stakeholders
    • Demonstrable experience of supporting a sales team in preparation of proposals and pre-sales work
    • Understanding of full software development and delivery lifecycle with demonstrable experience of software development methodologies, Kanban and Scrum, ideally used through Jira and GreenHopper
    • Demonstrable experience of working with an offsite development team
    • Demonstrable experience of budget creation and management
    • A good understanding of working across operational and technical environments
    • Degree qualification gained in IT, telecoms or engineering is an advantage
    • A project management qualification is an advantage
