  • Overview

    The Systems Analyst is responsible for the translation of the business requirements into the software requirements with respect to technology projects undertaken by Vubiquity.  Such technology projects can be internally or externally focused.

    Vubiquity’s technology platform is a key factor contributing towards the group’s competitive advantage, and hence commercial success.  The timely delivery of technology solutions, when called for by the business, is contingent upon good analysis of the problem, and a clear definition of the software requirements.  In this way the Systems Analyst will play a key part in the success of the organization.


    • Review business requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions
    • Work with internal teams to understand business requirements and translate into system requirements.
    • Quickly understand business issues facing the organisation and clients to identify how they can be resolved through the systems.
    • Design solutions in a manner which enables re-usability in order to gain efficiencies and expedite future implementations.
    • Identify ways in which to simplify or streamline systems within the business.
    • Provide documentation of software requirements using BPM, UML, and other appropriate methods to facilitate the effective communication of software requirements to the development team.
    • Use design patterns to identify appropriate solutions to common problems.
    • Facilitate requirements handover with development and test teams.
    • Review the development implementation to ensure delivery meets specified requirements.
    • Liaise with Test Team to ensure the quality of the deliverable including reviewing test packs.
    • Management of product backlog to ensure correct ordering and level of detail.
    • Responsibility for the acceptance and closure of Sprints including re-planning when Sprint goals not achieved.
    • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
    • Input to the continuous process improvement within the analysis and software area.
    • Liaise with architects to ensure system designs are aligned with company goals.
    • Understand and follow company processes with regards to design principals and sign off.
    • Keep abreast of industry standards and trends with regards to best practices. Providing advice and designs on how to introduce applicable changes into our systems.



    • University Degree, or equivalent
    • 3 years’ experience in a Software Development environment. 
    • 3 years’ experience in a Software Analysis role.



    • Experience of working in a Scrum environment
    • Experience compiling system flow diagrams
    • Experience with UML diagrams or equivalent, such as use case, activity, state, class and sequence
    • Experience of using design patterns to create solutions
    • 2 years’ experience with designing messaging systems is an advantage
    • Experience of working with offshore development teams
    • Experience with SQL is an advantage
    • Experience of line management, performance management is an advantage
    • Experience of working with clients to produce designs that meet the client’s needs and managing the client’s expectations to prevent undue work
